A Trio of Items to Tickle Your Ears

Good morning !!!

So … I was able to attend the iHeartMedia Imaging Academy in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. Since it was held at the iHeartRadio Theater (formerly the home theater of The Tonight Show) and I just happened to be there AND since I’m one of the voices on KIIS-FM’s imaging, it seemed only appropriate that I voice something while I was there … and the fact that Miles grabbed me running out of the door TO LEAVE LA !!!

This one’s totally ad-libbed … with incredible production by Miles and the additional voices of Kelly Kelly Kelly and Diego !!!

Now … one of the amazing people I got to meet was Ryan Cota – just a phenomenal producer. He asked me to voice this in the absence of the regular voiceguy at KRQ-FM in Tucson …

Finally, since commercial work is, at least of this writing, the predominant thing I do … here’s one from my association with iHeartMedia’s Creative Services Group and producer, Vito Gorinas. It’s for a New York City law firm that also sponsors New York Mets baseball …

Welcome to 2015, Ya’ll!

2015 started a couple of weeks ago and, as per usual, the year in broadcasting has begun slowly … but strongly! There are a few commercial samples in this post for your listening annoyance and I wanted to share a few things that have been rattling around in the back seat for a few days.

First, the morning show that I host in Biloxi with Mike Mankiewicz is doing QUITE well! Gulf Coast Mornings with Steve and Mike has been on the air for around 18 months. Since we began, we’ve steadily grown the show’s ratings to the most recent report from Nielsen that were released a few days ago. And it ain’t bad, especially for a news/talk station. Our show managed to be in the top 3 in several demos and number one in key demos – something that we’ve been working to achieve since we’ve been on the air. We’ve exceeded the previous host’s ratings, as well, which is quite an accomplishment, considering that he has been on the air here on the Coast for 20+ years.

Second, I’ve FINALLY delved into the world of story narration! The excellent people at Chilling Tales for Dark Nights accepted a demo read from me and we’ve actually recorded our first project! Check out their most-excellent YouTube Channel for a sampling of what they do and be looking for upcoming productions that I’ve been involved in!

Lastly, here are some recent production samples to annoy you:

My BOY, Sonny Smith at Wayward Son Productions is promoting the first of his three HUGE shows this year:

Next, three spots for Rex Raymond at Demand Exposure:

Sun Coast Audi:

Sunset KIA – Venice:
